Buying a vehicle is one of the biggest purchases that we will make in life. Once we make this purchase, how can we protect our investment? Most of our thoughts turn to insurance for those unexpected moments, but protecting your investment in a vehicle goes a little further than that.

• Preventative Maintenance: Keep on top of those fluid and filter changes. Regular oil and filter changes are a great start, but make sure to check your owner’s manual to confirm when you should change the other fluids in your vehicle, such as coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, differential fluid and transfer case fluid. • Rust Protection: During winter, calcium chloride is used on the roads to melt ice. While this helps with traction, it causes corrosion on our vehicles, which eats away at our investment.
